Private Classes : 1-2 People, (Year round)

Classes are for up to two people and are much more in depth than the other classes. The classes are very casual and don’t follow any time and/or subject restraints. These classes are the most beneficial for the student because they spend more one-on-one time with our instructor. Classes will cover all aspects of the course outline, plus much more.  $300 per person

Semi Private : 3-4 People, (Year round)

Classes are similar to the Private classes but will be more structured. The semi private classes are for up to four students and will cover all aspects shown in the course outline.   $250 per person

Group Classes : 6-10 People, (March-October)

These classes are more structured than the other classes offered, but you will learn all you need to start enjoying this great sport, and will cover all aspects of the course outline.

Group classes will start yearly in March and will be offered until October of each year. If you are interested in joining us for a group class, please contact us and we will book you into a class that will fit your time line.   $180 per person

  • Classes will be held in Surrey, BC and the casting portion would be held at a local Surrey pond or park.
  • Classes are for a maximum of ten students. If there are less than six students signed up one week before the class, the classes will be rescheduled.
  • Classes will consist of approximately 6-8 hours of combined theory & practical instruction.
  • Class format will be two days long consisting of 3-4 hours theory and 3-4 hours casting each day.

Entomology 101

Rp3 FlyFishing School does Entomology a little different. Instead of the typical classroom learning, we take the student to a local lake or river, and hold the class where the insects live. This way, the student can observe the insect in its environment and see how it lives and moves. Insects live in different areas of a body of water, and with our on-the-water lessons, the student gets a more “hands on” feel for the subject.  Price: $80 per person.

  • Classes are for a maximum of 6 students, and are 3-4 hours long depending on the questions asked by the students.

Fly Tying for Beginners

In Rp3 FlyFishing School’s Fly Tying class, you will learn all about the tools used and materials needed for at least two flies per week to practice on during the week. We will go over all the basics so that the beginner will have a good grasp of fly tying by the time they have completed the course. Some of the flies we will tie will be two different Leeches, Chironomids, Cary’s, as well as at least one dry fly (Sedge, Tom Thumb, etc…)   Price: $100 per person.

  • Beginner fly tying kits can be purchased from Rp3 on the first night. Please let us know if you would like to purchase one when you sign up for the class.
  • Classes are for a maximum of 6 students, and are held on Wednesday nights for 3 hours over a period of four consecutive weeks (12 hours total)

On The Water Classes:

Max 4, (May-October) - Contact us for pricing

These are very in-depth fly fishing classes which will be held on the water, at a lake or river chosen by the customer with the help of the instructor. Your experience will start by traveling to the desired site where you will camp or lodge in a cabin. For the classes, we will go over the basics with you right there, where it all happens. All the content covered in the regular Rp3 FlyFishing classes will be covered on location, where you will have the advantage of being at the water to check out the bugs, and have them explained, and will be shown how to fish them. This will be done over a three day period (including travel to and from location) and will consist of two full days of instruction with ample time on the water to test what you have learned.

Meals can be supplied by Rp3 as we have a accomplished chef who will prepare all meals required. We have a variety of menus tailored to suit the tastes and budget of any client.
